Ashford, WA is a quaint town almost hidden behind the large fir and cedar trees of the Cascade Mountains. Located near the only year round entrance to Mt Rainier National Park, it is a lovely spot to find secluded lodging during a weekend getaway to the mountains. Ashford is easily accessed from Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Olympia, Yakima and Puyallup. It is an ideal location to visit with friends, family, or that special someone.
Ashford makes a good base for exploring the Mt. Rainier region. Drive up to the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center in the Mt. Rainier National Park, the Historic Paradise Lodge and the Park Museum at Longmire. After learning about the history of the park and the current conditions, enjoy some of the more than 300 miles of trails on which you can hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski. It is always fun to bring sleds and careen down powder-packed hills.
