Bellingam, WA is about 90 miles north of Seattle up Interstate 5 and 50 miles south of Vancouver BC. It is the last major city on the Washington coast before it meets the Canadian border. With north Pugest Sound and the San Juan Islands at its feet and almost 10,778 ft high Mount Baker at its back, it is a stunning northwest city. But it is not only beautiful. Bellingham has a vibrant, unique community that thrives on outdoor recreation, green living, education and the arts.

Mount Baker offers year-round skiing and snow-boarding, along with fabulous hiking and mountaineering. The Ski to Sea Festival which takes place annually over Memorial Day Weekend celebrates the unique geography of Bellingham: the almost 90 mile relay race starts on Mt. Baker and ends by the sea, and participants downhill ski, run, road bike, canoe, mountain bike and sea kayak their way to the finish line.

Stay in a Northwest bed and breakfast and take some time to explore the many museums, coffee shops, restaurants and unique art galleries. Visit the American Museum of Radio and Electricity, the Lyden Pioneer Museum and the Whatcom Museum of HIstory and Art. Learn about the Bellingham Festival of Music in July, and shop at the Bellingham Farmers Market. Then return to your Bellingham Inn and relax.
