Bigfork, Montana is a picturesque town in the mountains of northwestern Montana. It overlooks the bay where the Swan River flows into Flathead Lake, one of the largest natural freshwater lakes west of the Mississippi. Situated about 18 miles north of Kalispell and 83 miles north of Missoula, it is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Glacier National Park, the Swan Wilderness and the Bob Marshall Wilderness areas surround Bigfork, making it an ideal spot for outdoor recreation.
Bring your own boat to Flathead Lake, charter one or partake in a tour; several outfitters in the region will set you up for lake fishing, waterskiing, sailing or paddling on the lake. There is also great fly flishing on the nearby rivers, and guides are plentiful. If you prefer to head into the woods, there are miles of trails in the wilderness areas and national park. In the winter, cross country ski or bring/rent a snow-mobile. No matter what you choose to do, you will be comfortable in a Montana bed and breakfast while you explore all that Bigfork has to offer.
