Fresh-cut Sequim Lavender

Sequim, Washington is known as the Lavender Capital of North America, and come July, you can smell the fragrant herb in the air just about anywhere on the North Olympic Peninsula.

The Sequim Lavender Festival brings thousands of visitors to the lavender farms in the area to enjoy Olympic Peninsula Wine and seafood, live music, and of course, lavender and anything you can imagine that can be made from it.If you make the trip to Sequim this time of year, two organic lavender farms are a must-see. Purple Haze Lavender Farm hosts events, and features a vacation rental farm house, as well as the perennial summer favorite, lavender ice cream.

Jardin du Soleil features hand crafted lavender products, including culinary lavender, and lavender-infused teas.

Each of these farms has its own unique personality and products, as well as photo-ready vistas.

British Columbia B&Bs get a new website

The British Columbia Bed and Breakfast Guild recently launched a new website with interactive maps, travel information, and lots of great photos of bed and breakfasts all over British Columbia. From the Canadian Rockies and the Okanagan to urban paradises like Victoria and Vancouver, there is a bed and breakfast perfect for your trip to BC.

A couple of examples: The House on Dunbar is an urban oasis centrally located in Vancouver. And Fisher House Bed and Breakfast is at the heart of all things Victoria.
