The small town of Chiloquin, Oregon is just northeast of Upper Klamath Lake and Klamath Falls, and about an hour east of Medford, Oregon. On the eastern edge of the South Cascade Mountains, it is blessed with incredible scenery and a High Desert Climate full of sunny days. It is situated in the ancestral lands of the Klamath people, who make up a substantial portion of the population today. In fact, the name Chiloquin refers to the Klamath chief who lived at the time of the 1864 treaty that established the Klamath Reservation to the northeast of Upper Klamath Lake. At the time, Crater Lake was included in the boundaries.
There are many outdoor recreation opportunities here year round: hiking, cross-country skiing, fly-fishing and boating are just some of what the region has to offer. You can even find a rodeo. Consider staying at a Chiloquin Oregon bed and breakfast and exploring this fascinating region that is as rich in history as it is in natural beauty.
