Walla Walla is a town in the southeast corner of Washington State. It boasts three colleges: Whitman College and Walla Walla University, two private liberal arts schools, and Walla Walla Community College. Walla Walla was an important milestone along the Oregon Trail, and the area is rich in history, including the Whitman Monument, commemorating the first European woman to settle in the Northwest. Known for its wheat, onions and asparagus, Walla Walla has recently made a name for itself as a quality wine producing region as well.
